I’ve Been Coughing And Sneezing, I think I Messed My Back Up...

You definitely may have. When you cough, especially if you try to hold it in, you build up internal pressure. It is often this pressure that can throw the spine out of whack.

I often rush to turn or something else to avoid sneezing somewhere I don’t want as well; this can definitely cause some discomfort.

I just thought of this morning, I moved turned away from my daughter so I didn’t sneeze on her. Now. She was on my lap so I turned my low back and neck as much as I could. I also, for some reason, often turn left, but we have an end table there. I had my coffee there so I rushed to turn right.

Now, if I have the chance, I grab something to brace myself. Some sneezes are bigger than others! As you guessed, this one was big. Not only did I wrench my back but my neck didn’t feel great either.

If you know a big sneeze or cough is coming, and you can, keep your body’s spine straight and your head straight, bend your knees slightly, and grab something to brace for the body’s whiplash.

The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.
